Vitamin C is probably one of the most widely recognised vitamins for promoting a healthy immune system, but it also provides many other benefits including protection against cardiovascular disease, eye disease and even skin wrinkling. Vitamin C is also sensitive to stress, and those who are under a lot of stress can easily be depleted of this vitamin. Stress = depleted immune system. 

Most people identify oranges to be a great source of vitamin C, which is true. However, there are other foods that contain very high amounts of vitamin C that you may not have even been aware of! 

Below are 5 foods that are RICH in vitamin C! If you have a serving of each of these foods a day, you would be likely to meet your Recommended Daily Intake for vitamin C.


Have 1/2 to a whole punnet of strawberries as a snack or have atop yoghurt


Include these steamed greens at dinner each night, or chop up finely and add to your salad for extra crunch!

Kiwi Fruit

These little fella’s have more vitamin C than oranges! Have 1 or 2 as an after dinner snack.


Include grilled tomato with an omelette at breakfast, or chop and add to your salads.


Rockmelons are in season at the moment! A refreshingly sweet snack to have as a mid-morning snack.
