Sunshine Coast Dietetics has taken a significant step towards carbon neutral status by participating in a unique offsets program undertaken by West Australian based Carbon Neutral.
Managing Director of Sunshine Coast Dietetics Tyson Tripcony said the business was committed to reducing its impact on the environment.
“We operate out of six locations on the Sunshine Coast and, like all businesses, we know we have an impact on the environment. This initiative is driven by our staff and we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint. Our business supports people with managing weight, health conditions and sport performance. Our focus is obviously helping clients achieve their goals through diet, but ensuring we reduce out impact on the environment while we do it is important to us” Tyson said.
Fifty-four tonnes of the firm’s carbon emissions has been offset through the surrender of biodiverse reforestation carbon offsets in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor.
“We believe every business, regardless of its size, has a part to play in creating a sustainable and healthy environment for current and future generations. By becoming carbon neutral, we are offsetting our carbon emissions while working towards a better environment for future generations,” Tyson said.
The Carbon Neutral group is a rising carbon solutions provider and reforestation offset developer who works with organisations across Australia to minimise their impact on the environment by measuring, reducing and offsetting greenhouse gas emissions.
“The Carbon Neutral group has planted over 22 million trees across Australia and these actions will reduce emissions and minimise the impact on the environment while protecting against climate change.
“The vision for the Sunshine Coast is to become one of the most sustainable and healthiest regions in Australia and that perfectly aligns with our business values. Collectively our dietitians decided this is one way we could offer our support for our region and beyond, and we hope to inspire other local businesses to follow our lead to create a better future.”
